The Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue, located in Tehachapi, California, is a non-profit organization that rescues and cares for abused, neglected and unwanted donkeys. Founded in 2000, by Mark and Amy Meyers, it is now the largest donkey rescue in the United States. While the original mission of the Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue was to focus on rescuing and rehabilitating domestic donkeys, collaborative efforts with the Bureau of Land Management and National Park Service have resulted in the relocation and preservation of hundreds of wild burros. Community outreach and education are essential elements of the Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue. At the Rescue’s 100 acre ranch in Tehachapi, California, facilities are made available for free public use, including a meeting hall, a camping area, and a self-guided tour. Guided tours are available by appointment and everyone is welcome, including school, senior and special needs groups. You can contact us at:
